The meeting was brought to. order at 7:15vM by Rotary President Cindy Guarini. Cindy announced our guest speaker Bill Ullis from Partnership for a Drug Free New Jersey. Bill discussed the following:
Their mission is to promote prevention for underage drinking and elicit drugs.
Together, as Partnership to End Addiction, we mobilize families, policymakers, researchers and health care professionals to more effectively address addiction systemically on a national scale.
The Partnership for Drug-Free Kids was the 1986 creation of marketing and media executives who believed that the persuasive power of advertising would be effective in preventing young people from trying substances.
Prescribers can be part of the solution
Brought to you by Partnership to End Addiction, Search and Rescue is a prescriber education campaign, operating on a grant from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA),* with the sole purpose of providing healthcare professionals with the tools and resources they need to help patients avoid prescription drug misuse and addiction.
National Database will show who and when opioids were prescribed to use.
There are grants available for businesses to help upgrade their policies for employees who have an addition problem. This gives the employee the opportunity to get help and still keep their employment .
Nationally 100,000.00 people die due to opioids . Fentanyl is a major drug responsible for overdose. They choose this option because Fentanyl is cheaper then Heroin.
Alcohol is still the number 1 drug in the US. 30 and under have a drug problem with Marijuana
