Cindi Started off the meeting by thanking Everyone for their donations to the Afghan Refugees. They came to the United Stated under different circumstances, some came with the just the clothes on their backs. Our donation will help them get started.
The Calendar Raffle will go before City Council on September 22, 2021. The Raffle will run from November 2021 thru February 2022. The tickets will be $50.00 each. Last year we sold 100 tickets and are hoping to sell more this year. The Raffle will only have 4 drawings which allows each ticket holder 4 chances to win.
Dr. Mehat is married, his wife works as an attorney in New York and they have 1 daughter. Dr Mehat and his family he grew up in Gillette, New Jersey and also live in Port Liberte in Jersey City during his residency. Dr. Mehat’s practice has been in business for 50 years he is 4 generations of doctors. The practice is located on Palisades Ave in Jersey City, NJ called Budha Practice across from Christ Hospital. He partners with Jersey City Medical Center and Christ Hospital. He stated that he is a very straight forward man and trying to keep his practice independent. He advised us that he has a lot to offer our community. Proposed that Jersey City and Bayonne are unique and he would like to help. Budha Practice is an established business and spoke of Opioid epidemic and said doctors should be more responsible when offering Opioids to patients. He expressed that Bayonne is an established community and that we have a strong community and can save the city money. A large number of doctors coming from across the water and would like to join Rotary.

Janice Hall thanks everyone who participated in her Gutsy fundraiser. The foundation raised $7000.00 and had only 85 participants.
