PROGRAM: Our guest speaker today was Cecilia McBean, Director of Behavior Health at the Bayonne Medical Center. There are Psychiatric Units in Bayonne, Christ and Hoboken hospitals. Ms. McBean explained that behavioral health is not only meds but also includes therapy and support groups. Currently there are 15 beds in Bayonne's Psychiatric Unit. Patients are admitted voluntarily through the ER. They are working on creating an involuntary unit. Hoboken University Medical Center also has a specialized geriatric and adolescent unit while Christ Hospital has a Detox Unit. Ms. McBean stated that CarePoint is growing in many ways, offering programs to everyone in need.
