PROGRAM: Our guest speaker today was the owner of Bo-Ho Bookshop located between 5th and 6th Street on Broadway in Bayonne.  Sandra was happy to announce that on July 31st she will be celebrating the 2nd Anniversary of the opening of the bookshop.  Sandra moved here from San Diego, CA where she worked as VP of Sales for Random House.  She is currently on the Board of the Bayonne Public Library.  Currently the shop has about 75,000 books.  Sandra stated that the youth of Bayonne are amazing.  The shop started as a children's book store but as you can see we also have adult books so now it is a general bookshop.  Sandra believes that small businesses nurture the comnunity.  She is looking forward to more community participation in the future.  She started a book club with about 80 people signing up and now between 15-20 come regularly.  Sandra was asked about audible books and in the Internet.  She stated that 15% of the books sold are online.  She went on to say that not every child likes to read so you give them a book to go with their likes.  Sandra believes "Reading Makes You Happier".  She also had a birthday club for children up to 15 years old where you would receive a free book on your birthday.  She will be reinstating that program again this year.  We thank Sandra for inviting us to the Bo-Ho Bookshop today.  We enjoyed the visit.
