GUEST SPEAKER: Our guest speaker today was Yoneiris Nieves, student at Bayonne High School. Yoneiris is from the Domenican Republic which is about the size of N.J. She came from a poor community and now whenever she and her Mom have extra they send it to D.R. They collect clothing, shoes, etc., box them up and ship them to a church in the D.R. for distribution. This is a possible International Project for BHS Interact for next school year. Nicole Sexton will keep us posted on this and when it is finalized she will let us know when she'll bring a box to Rotary for our donations. Yoneiris is also a RYLA candidate for this year. We thank Yoneiris for joining us this morning and for giving back to her community.
BHS Interact is conducting a fundraiser for school supplies, i.e. pencils, pens, single subject notebooks, etc. These will be made available to BHS students in September who cannot afford school supplies. There will be a box for donations at our Citizenship Award Breakfast on June 5th.
PRESIDENT'S CORNER:
Melissa's final fundraiser will be the production of Aladdin on June 14th @ 7 p.m. at St. Andrew's Gym. Ticket cost is $12 per person.
