GUEST SPEAKER: Our guest speaker today was Dr. Devarajan Iyengar, Oncologist. Hal credits him with saving his life. Dr. Iyengar stated that the true heroes are the patients who go through so much during treatments. Since March is Colorectal Cancer Month, he spoke to us about the importance of early detection and suggested that everyone get a Colonoscopy. There are new drugs out there for Colon Cancer and research is making tremendous progress. Dr. Iyengar informed us that the FDA has release 123 new drugs in the past year and there are also new proven therapies for the treatment of cancer. Additionally, there is a new molecular testing blood test for circulatory tumor DNA. Dr. Iyengar is hopeful that by 2025 there will be a cure for cancer. We thank Dr. Iyengar for joining us this morning and for sharing this promising information with us.
