The meeting was brought to order at 7:40 AM by Rotary President Cindy Guarini.  Cindy welcomed everyone back after the holidays, she also welcomed our newest members Olivia Ahumada and Jackie Farber. The following topics were discussed. 
 
  • Mozzarella Making Class :  The class was held on December 28, 2023 at The Sicilian Club in Bayonne NJ. Joe Barbero was the Chairperson for the event. The cost of was $75 and we had 53 people in attendance.  All the food was donated by Restaurants  around town as well as Rotarians and other guest. The profit after payouts is approx. $2900.00 
  • Calendar Raffles: As of January 3, 2024 we have sold 187 Calendar Raffles.  The total after all expenses is $6480.00.  There are still raffles some raffles that we have not received yet so the number will definitely change. first drawing for the raffle is today winner to receive $1000.00
  • Super Bowl Fundraiser:  The boxes for the Super Bowl Fundraiser are $50 per box.  You can pick your box online at Footballsquaresonline.com       Game number : 950150 Password: 1920
  • Stanlaw Fitness: Will host a Boot Camp to raise money for our service dogs on February 10, 2024 at 9:00 AM.  The cost is $10 per person and he will have a Marine doing the actual Boot Camp.
  • Our Hearts are Full Brunch: Event chaired by Donna Trimblett and Dawn Herring on February 18, 2024 at the Bayonne Museum.  Anthony from San Vito will cater this event.  We will need to apply for an ABC License and insurance to serve liquor.  We proposed Mimosa's, Wine and a Bloody Mary Station. There will also be a Silent Auction and we are asking Rotarians to please donate prizes for the event. 
  • Chess Club: Every year we provide the Chess club with their awards.  This years Award Ceremony will be on Tuesday February 27, 2024 at Robinson School.  Rotarians are asked to arrive around 6:00 PM. 
  • Easter Baskets: Proposed that we donate Easter Baskets to The Community Day Nursery which has a maximum of 75 children. We can make 150 baskets and donate the remaining baskets to a Children's Hospital.  All were in favor of these suggestions. 
  • Presentation of Service Dogs: Suggestion was made to present the Service Dogs at The Bayonne Home Town Fair.  Cindy will speak with the Home Town Fair committee to see if we can get some stage time.  We will present the dogs later in the day right before Mark Brynes performs.  We will overkill with Red, White and Blue decorations and ask Mark to start his set with songs related to the United States.

The Jersey City Golden Door Club will be joining us, along with our AG Emory Edwards.  Bernadette from their club will be speaking to us about the Rotary Foundation.
