The meeting was called to order at 7:41 AM by Club President Carl Biscaldi.
The following items were discussed:
Review of July meeting:
To donate to food pantries all year long not only from Nov-Dec.
After December 31st all food donations go into hibernation. We would like to contribute all year long.
Discussed partnering with VFW for their annual Coat Drive
Carl suggested that each event/fundraiser we hold ask for dry donations.
Presidents Report:
September's presentation will be Joseph Kane from the Council on Compulsive Gambling of NJ, Inc.,September 23, 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Bayonne Public Library Gallery-(located on the 2nd Floor)
It will be a 45 minute presentation . Cindy will make the flyers. There is no cost to attend this event and it is open to the public.
Fundraising Ideas:
Dine Arounds were discussed. Joe Barbero has had a lot of success with these events and will assist.
Bingo in the Spring
Men Who Cook.. Men will make their own speciality dishes. Each contestant will be responsible for purchasing all their own ingredients for their meal.
We will have a cocktail hour reception to taste all the dishes made. No date, venue or price was discussed.
Liv would like to do an Our Hearts are Full event in February.
Governor's Meeting Report:
Recruiting new members was discussed. How to engage with people. What will they get out of Rotary.
Recipes: Different ways to try and bring in mew members.
District Directory: Listed in the directory will be the Club President, Vice President and Secretary. All club information will be added and a list of meeting dates and time will be also be published.
In 2027 we will be District# 7590. The title District Governor will be replaced wit President of the New Jersey Rotary.
Other:
Bergenpoint Festival is October 18, 2025. All members agreed on just having a booth. Will find out pricing. We will have a spinning wheel, Spin the wheel and get a prize.
Will look on Russell Hampton website for prize ideas. We will also give out Rotary information and pamphlets.
October 19, 2025 Bayonne Italian Heritage Parade. Our member Joe Barbero is this years Grand Marshal and Charlie Benanti has been chosen as Business Person of the Year. It was discussed if anyone would like to March. We will reach out to the members to see if anyone is available to join us.
Once again we will be holding the Casa Book Drive along with scarves, hats and gloves for teens. Drop off location will be Hudson DNA & Drug Testing 166 Broadway Bayonne,NJ. Fliers will be made to put inn physical locations.
Financials were reviewed.
